About Monique

Monique L. Stover has always had a nose for mysteries—first as an avid young reader of Nancy Drew and Sherlock Holmes, now as a cozy mystery author. A native of sunny Southern California, she earned her master’s degree in Anthropology and certification in Forensic Identification before putting her investigative skills to work at the Ventura County Crime Lab. These days, she uses that same attention to detail (and love of a good puzzle) to craft her Madeline Quinn Mystery series, where a curious amateur sleuth and her tuxedo cat, Lucky Clover, find trouble lurking behind every tennis ball and tidepool.
Monique’s thrillers, written under M. L. Stover, prove she’s equally at home in the shadows—but she’s happiest writing stories where the murder is tidy, the motives are tangled, and the cats always have the last word.
When she’s not plotting fictional crimes, Monique can be found at book club, on the tennis court, or crunching numbers as a financial analyst. She shares her Southern California home with her music producer husband, and three cats—Enzo, Porsche, and Bianka—one of whom insists on her own literary alter ego.
